Emma Slater & Sasha Farber Wedding

Fans of the TV show "Dancing with the Stars" will recall how professional dancers Emma Slater and Sasha Farber became engaged live on the air in 2017. It was an heart touching moment that had viewers at home in tears of joy right along with the dancing couple.

Flash forward to March 25, 2018 to when Emma and Sasha exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony at the Houdini Estate in Los Angeles. When our client Mikie Russo of Michael Russo Events asked us to create a dreamy custom aisle runner for the dancing stars, we immediately said yes! Our team has been fortunate to have collaborated with Mikie on several celebrity events before including "Shark Tank's" Robert Herjavec and singer Kevin Jonas' weddings. We are always astounded by his creativity and his ability to make each occasion feel truly unique to the celebrity couple's vision for their big day.

For Emma and Sasha's hand painted aisle runner, we took inspiration from the couple's invitation design by creating a border of large scale rose heads in metallic silver down the entire length of the aisle. We loved the idea of adding texture to the aisle but were mindful not to overwhelm the space so that it worked in conjunction with the rest of the decor. The crowning detail was finishing their names in hand applied black glitter so it would catch the special ceremony lighting.

The bride told US Weekly magazine, "My most memorable moment would be the ceremony and walking down the aisle. I wish that could have lasted a mile long... All I could really see was Sasha's face and his watery eyes. We had massive, big smiles on our face and it was just so surreal. My dad was getting all teary, I loved it."

We knew their 5 ft. wide aisle runner would be a statement in the ceremony and it was a detail that was important to couple as well. A team of three artists worked over 50 hours to hand-paint and glitter the runner to perfection. We were thrilled with the results of our labor and so was event planner Mikie Russo who said the runner was just "perfect and amazing".
